Upgrading an older or dated home can be a daunting process, especially if you’re working with a limited budget. Fortunately, you can make a large impact with small changes. Remove the knobs or pulls on your bathroom or kitchen cabinets and replace them with new ones. Similarly, upgrade lighting features to reflect the same metal tones throughout the space. Alternatively, try refinishing the staircase—a major feature in most homes’ design. Repairing a staircase and replacing dated carpeting with fresh wood or a runner can add life to an out-of-date property.
