Home Energy Scores

At Central Real Estate Inspections, we are committed to home energy efficiency and are proud to offer a Home Energy Score provided by our U. S. Department of Energy certified inspector. Like the “miles-per-gallon” rating for your car, this simple 1-10 score is designed to help homebuyers and homeowners gain useful information about the home’s energy performance.

Currently we offer scoring on single-family homes, duplexes, and townhomes. The Home Energy Score Asset Inventory includes features like:- Air Sealing
– Window, door, and roofing characteristics
– Insulation levels and installation quality
– Heating & cooling equipment efficiency and installation quality
– Duct location and leakiness
– Water heater efficiency

Your Home Energy Score includes a report showing your home’s energy score today, a set of personalized recommendations and upgrades, and the potential impact of those on the energy score. Implementing the recommended changes and upgrades will help you achieve a more comfortable home year-round; less pollen, dust, mold, and other irritants in the home; and potentially lower your utility bills throughout the year.

What are the limitations
on an inspection?

A real estate inspection or home inspection is not an appraisal or a check for compliance with building codes; it’s also not an evaluation of environmental hazards. See the NYS Standards of Practice for more information on the limitations of a home inspection.
